School Health Team

IMMUNISATIONS

The School Nursing service is not commissioned to provide immunisations and vaccinations in Slough. This service is provided by NHS Berkshire Healthcare.

This service offers vaccinations to all children of school age, as part of the Department of Health’s national vaccination programme.

This includes:

  • Flu vaccinations, given to children in reception year and above in the autumn term
  • HPV Doses 1 and 2, given to girls from Year 8
  • Diphtheria, tetanus, polio and meningitis ACWY booster injections (two vaccinations), given to pupils in Year 9
  • The MMR catch up programme, for children with a missing or incomplete MMR history

All state maintained, academy and free schools and most independent schools are included in the programme. And all childhood immunisations are carried out in schools by our team.
