Maternal Mental Health

Partners is a form of low mood which occurs after childbirth. It commonly starts about three days after the birth and can last for about a week, bringing feelings of tearfulness and irritability.

It is thought that up to 50% of mothers suffer baby blues and no medical treatment is needed. If symptoms increase in severity or continue for more than 10 days, further advice from a health professional may be required.
